The Duck Pond

Last week, we took Bella to Harveston Lake and fed the ducks. She LOVED it! She was mesmerized by them and even got to touch the beak of one! But, when we would give her a piece of bread to give the ducks, she would eat it, haha! So I guess she doesn't get how it works yet, but she still had so much fun and it was so neat to see her get excited :)

Welcome to Our Blog

Hi everybody,

Many of you have told us you can't get a hold of us, never see pictures of Bella, or never see any of us in person. This might not solve all those issues, but I (Allie) created this blog to keep you updated on what's going on in our lives and how Bella is growing.

To start this thing off, let me get you up to date. Brian is working for at&t in Oceanside. To put it simply, he is an electrician. He absolutely loves his new job and loves the company. We would like to live in the San Diego area eventually so it's nice to have him working over there already. I got my real estate license last month and am taking a breather after all the studying, and researching different companies to help me make a decision as to who to work for. I plan on starting my career in the spring. Bella is turning 10 months old tomorrow. She crawls like crazy, stands up and scoots along furniture, but no walking yet. She had a doctor appointment a couple of days ago and Dr. Winter said she is very mentally mature and is saying and doing things way ahead of "normal." She can identify me and Brian by saying "Mom" and "Dad" and she has started saying "wow" when something is shiny or interesting. She is also starting to recognize our bulldogs and say "dog." She is pointing at things with her forefinger and learning how to press buttons on her toys and cell phones and things like that. Her hair is still very light blonde and her eyes are still very blue. She is measuring right where she should be and weighing in the same. She loves being outside! I take her out front every morning to let her see the sunshine and watch the cats play on the grass and I can see on her face that she is taking it all in. She also loves the TV show "Yo Gabba Gabba" that plays on Nick Jr. She has toys and books from the show and gets very excited anytime she hears it come on or sees a toy from it (there's your Christmas gift idea!)
Because of everybody asking what she wants/needs for Christmas, Brian and I decided to register for her Christmas and birthday gifts at Target. We haven't done it yet, but I am going over there this week to do it under the baby shower section. I will post more info on that after I get it done.
I think that's most of the updates for now, but I will definitely keep everyone posted! I have a photo gallery online at a website called Picasa that I keep all of our recent pictures on, so I will post the link to it often so you guys can take a look. Feel free to print out copies or save any pictures you like onto your computer... that's what the website is for! We love you all and hope to see you for the holidays!
